Chapter One is a non-profit organization providing services and resources to schools and families that help build early reading skills for K-2 elementary students.

Your child’s school is participating in one or more Chapter One programs. Please complete this registration form to confirm permission for your child to participate in the program(s) offered at school and give at-home access to your child for those offered at home.

Chapter One High Dosage (H-D) Program
Chapter One High Dosage tutoring is delivered by specially trained early literacy tutors to help students develop early reading skills, such as: phonics, decoding and reading fluency. Tutors work one-to-one with students focusing on the specific skills each child is ready to learn and students receive independent practice in school each day using our Student Portal software.

Student Portal Practice
As an extension of Chapter One High Dosage, registered students will have at-home access to the Student Portal platform to practice assignments through fun and engaging activities. Students will also have access to a large online library of stories to help them build reading skills.

Chapter One Enrichment Online Reading Program
Chapter One Enrichment is an online reading program that pairs corporate volunteers with students in the classroom. If your child is selected to participate, they will receive reading practice with a caring adult for 30 minutes once a week. The program is conducted in the classroom under the teacher’s supervision and all volunteers have undergone a national background check.

Chapter One Home Online Reading Program
Chapter One HOME connects working professionals with first grade students at home after school hours. As a participant in the Chapter One HOME program, your child will benefit from reading practice with a caring adult each week. Our volunteers are recruited from major corporations and have undergone a nation-wide background check. Sessions are conducted on a computer and the session day and time is agreed upon between you and the Chapter One volunteer.
